Performance:
MX-Ray sets a new standard in single-handed sailing - a freeride sailcraft that combines the speed and wet excitement of windsurfing
with the ease of sailing sitting down. No other single- handed design offers this kind of exhilaration and ease of use. In
fact, we have created a whole new performance maxim: Planes in just six knots of wind and reaches speeds of over twenty knots.
Even upwind sailing without the spinnaker is exciting since you have the ability to plane in moderate wind. Why be sub-planing
in a thirty year old design?

Why this boat is so exciting to see and to sail
This picture - one of those provided by designer and builder Vlad Murnikov with the original promotional materials - really
tells the whole story. This is an extraordinarily fast boat - a single-hander with an asymmetrical spinnaker that not only
provides raw power but also provides more control by lifting the bow. Vlad claims to have patented this solution for single-handers
- the system could probably benefit from a whole lot of McLube KwikKote lubricant. Ronstan sells it here in Japan. Most sailors
could probably benefit from KwikKote all around their boats to reduce the massive friction almost always encountered on sails,
halyards and other running rigging.
